Information on diabetes is an important educational factor in helping people to combat the onset of this common disease in particular type 2 diabetes. Often this condition can have been prevented with healthy eating and regular exercise therefore reducing obesity especially in young children and adolescents. Of course this is not always the case though. What is the case is that many people who are not over weight or unfit can and do indeed suffer from diabetes, most likely type 1 diabetes.

Most of people know the benefits of vegetable consumption. Recent studies claims that this could be the secret of longevity. Then eat more vegetable, except potatoes.

The function of potatoes in a diet aiming to decrease the burden of chronic ailments has been controversial. Though potatoes have healthful contributions, they also have a high glycemic index (GI). That means they induce a strong and rapid rise of sugar level in blood. Over time, this action may damage the pancreatic cells able produce the insulin, the hormone which is needed to metabolize blood sugar.

Tip! Any one of the parents,(or both)suffering from diabetes.

Diabetes – Symptoms and Cures (Diabetes diets)

Tip! Vaarala O, et al. Cow’s Milk Formula Feeding Induces Primary Immunization to Insulin in Infants at Genetic Risk for Type 1 Diabetes.

Diabetes is of three main types – insulin-dependent diabetes or the Type 1 diabetes, Non-insulin dependent diabetes or the Type 2 diabetes, and gestational diabetes mellitus. A person’s eating habits and viruses can cause Type 1 diabetes. Heredity, obesity, high blood pressure, and lack of proper diet cause Type 2 diabetes, which is very common.

The gestational diabetes mellitus is caused as a result of heredity, increased maternal age, fatness and more reasons. It may cause the mother to develop permanent diabetes. This characteristic may get transferred to the child at a later age.

Diabetes Mellitus Type 1

Tip! Avoid intake of excess salt, which increases blood pressure and aggravates the problems of diabetes.

Special areas in the pancreas gland, the islets of Langerhans, produce a hormone called insulin. This hormone is a protein of small size. Insulin stimulates muscle cells and other body cells to take up glucose from the blood and convert the glucose to glycogen, a kind of starch, and then store the glycogen. By need the body cells convert the glycogen to glucose and use it as fuel. In this way insulin keeps the glucose level in the blood at a normal size.

Understand Diabetes (Diabetes screening)

Tip! Vaarala O, et al. Cow Milk Feeding Induces Primary Immunization to Insulin in Infants at Genetic Risk for Type 1 Diabetes.

Diabetes occurs when the body does not produce insulin, a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy for daily life requirements. It is still a mystery the cause of diabetes although genetically and environmentally influence such as not enough exercise and obesity play a role.
